🔥 How Does a Hybrid Hot Tub Work in Summer?
A hybrid hot tub – available as an upgrade for any of our wood-fired hot tubs – gives you the best of both worlds: the natural charm of a wood-fired soak and the convenience of electric heating. But how does it work, especially in different seasons?
🌞 In Summer
When the days are warm and the evenings are long, your hybrid hot tub becomes incredibly energy-efficient:
- 🔌 You can use the **electric heater alone** to gently and quietly bring the water to your desired temperature.
- 🔥 Prefer the authentic wood-fired experience? Fire up the stove for a faster heat-up time and that cozy, crackling ambiance.
- ♻️ Or combine both: **preheat with fire**, then **maintain with electricity** for perfect stability without relighting the stove.
Because the ambient temperature is already high, the water heats up much faster – saving you time, wood, and electricity. It’s the ultimate flexibility for relaxing weekends or spontaneous evening dips.
❄️ In Winter
Hybrid heating really shines in the colder months. Here’s how to manage it efficiently:
- Set the **electric heater to 10°C** as a standby temperature to prevent freezing.
- When you’re ready to bathe, **ignite the wood stove** to quickly bring the water to 38°C.
- Once heated, **maintain the temperature electrically** throughout the weekend for effortless reuse.
- After bathing, **lower the thermostat back to 10°C** to save energy while keeping the system protected from frost.
This setup is perfect for holiday homes, cabins, and winter getaways – enjoy your hot tub without long waits or cold surprises.
💧 What Is a Hybrid Hot Tub?
A hybrid hot tub is simply a traditional wood-fired tub enhanced with an integrated electric heating system. You get the rustic, immersive experience of wood heating plus the option to control temperature electronically – ideal for year-round comfort.
